Many people consider Bull Terriers to be vicious and aggressive. In fact, these dogs have lost their initial wariness and have become home pets. They are very intelligent, sweet and convivial, although they are not easy to train and can become destructive if neglected or bored.

Bull Terriers are offsprings of old English Bulldogs, which were used in bull baiting until its outlawing in 1835. Later these dogs were crossed with now extinct White English Terrier. Modern Bull Terriers also have the genes of Dalmatians and Collies, who contributed to the elongated muzzle.
