This is a selectively bred canine that was selected for hundreds of years to fight other dogs. While other dogs were bred to be hunters, guards or pets these were bred to face other dogs in mortal combats. A lot of animals were killed in these combats thus only the strongest survived.

These dogs have the long history, thsu they were ferocious fighters paticipaing in the bloody games of bull baiting. By the 1700's there were two primary bull fighting dogs that emerged.
