Bull Terrier Photo

In early Bull Terrier photo galleries, you’ll see large and fierce fighters, but present-day Bull Terriers have very little in common with their ancestors. The original aggression to humans and dogs is bred out of them, and they became reliable and loving family companions and playmates for children.

This breed is easy to distinguish using the Bull Terrier photo. The main characteristic of the breed is its long, heavy, egg-shaped head. The skull has a slight curve from the forehead to the tip of the muzzle. The forehead is flat and wide, with no stop. The jaws are massive; the teeth are regular and strong. The preferred bite is level or scissors. The tip of the nose is bent downwards. Ears are small, thin, and held erect. Eyes of the Bull Terrier are small, triangular, and set deep. It gives these dogs a fierce impression, which creates myths and misconceptions about the breed.

The body of these dogs, as it can be seen in Bull Terrier photo galleries, is muscular and well rounded, but without excessive heaviness. The shoulders are wide and sloping. The neck of the Bull Terrier is moderately long, tapering, and arched, with no loose skin. The chest should be very broad. The underline of the Bull Terrier should be graceful, with no skin folds. The legs of these dogs are straight and well-boned; the feet are compact, with cat-like toes. The tail is short, tapering, and set low. The coat in this breed is very short and lying flat. The preferred coat patterns are solid white with markings on the head and brindle with white markings.

A healthy Bull Terrier lives for 10 to 12 years. Dogs of this breed need a great deal of companionship and a strong hand in training. If you are not sure that you can devote much time to the pet and train it accordingly, choose some other breed. Careful investigation on the breed’s personality, keeping conditions, exercise needs, and so forth is needed after you’ve made a decision on purchasing a Bull Terrier. Seeing Bull Terrier photo galleries on breeders’ websites is not enough for making the right decision.
